Sandton-based foundation helps 3 910 girls tackle period poverty
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Aspen Pharmacare joined forces with the Imbumba foundation to support thousands of girls across South Africa, ensuring they have the resources to continue their education without interruption.

On International Women’s Day, the Imbumba Foundation, based in Sandton, in partnership with Aspen Pharmacare, initiated a campaign to support 3 910 girl learners from seven schools in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape.
The official launch of the campaign, driven through the Caring4Girls programme, saw 686 girl learners at the event provided with six months’ supply of sanitary pads, as well as vital puberty education and empowering health talks.
This initiative marks a significant step in the ongoing fight against period poverty, ensuring girls can focus on their education without interruption. Driven by a volunteering spirit, Aspen’s employees selected and participated in the distribution of much needed sanitary pads to schools in the three provinces.
