Hope returns to Wendywood Clinic as power restoration plans takes shape.
After several weeks in the dark, Wendywood Clinic may finally see the lights come back on.
The clinic has been operating without electricity for an extended period, which has left both residents and healthcare workers frustrated and concerned.
The blackout has severely affected day-to-day operations, raising alarm over the clinic’s ability to provide safe, quality healthcare.

Ward 109 councillor Lori Coogan confirmed that progress is finally being made behind the scenes. The root of the issue was linked to outstanding municipal accounts, which, allegedly, had not been paid. That, now, has changed. “The outstanding invoices have been approved and are awaiting a date of payment. In the meantime, I have sent the executive director the contact details of Eskom’s Sandton area manager, to ensure the right communication channels are open.”
Once payment is made, Coogan said the next step is urgent infrastructure repair, to get the lights back on. “Upon confirmation of payment, repairs can begin immediately, so that power is restored without further delay.
