Crawford Prep learners collect record 22 123 Easter eggs for charity

Mini councillors lead school-wide effort to bring Easter joy to children in need.

Crawford International Sandton Preparatory learners have made a meaningful impact after collecting a record-breaking 22 123 Easter eggs for children in need.

The initiative was led by the school’s Johannesburg mini councillors, who encouraged the entire school community to participate in the annual Easter egg drive. Deputy mayor of the Mini Council, Jaiden Samuel Levine, said the project taught learners the importance of giving back.

“For some children, this might be the only chocolate they receive all year. That is why we need to help where we can.”

Mini councillor Tesla Mihić said the experience was both exciting and rewarding. “It made me feel proud to be part of something that helps others. Seeing how grateful the children were made all the hard work worth it.”

The Easter eggs were distributed to various charities supporting vulnerable children and families.

The school’s representatives said the success of the collection showed what can be achieved when a community works together with a shared purpose.
