Bryanston Primary School’s sold-out show leaves audiences on the edge of their seats
Bryanston Primary School's annual production, Wizard of Odd, delighted audiences over three sold-out evenings, with Grade 4 learners taking centre stage in a humorous performance.
Packed audiences couldn’t keep hold themselves as the young performers from Bryanston Primary School entertained them in a humorous, musical and dramatic show, Wizard of Odd, on July 28, 29, and 30.
The school’s annual three-night production attracted close to 1 000 attendees, with every performance selling out as parents, teachers, and learners gathered to enjoy an evening of comedy, music, and drama.

This year’s production showcased the talents of the school’s Grade 4 learners, who took on the lead roles, supported by fellow learners from grades 5 to 7. Their colourful costumes, energetic performances, and confident stage presence kept audiences entertained throughout the show.

Bryanston Primary School principal Morné Marx said the idea behind the show was to promote culture in the school.

“It does help with fundraising as well. Fundraising is very important to us. We fill gaps with maintenance, etc, where we fell short from the department side, but it’s an absolutely fantastic show, sold out for three nights. We sold about a thousand tickets. An absolutely amazing event for our parents and our kids, just to enjoy something that is not sport or academics.”
