SENSITIVE CONTENT: Pedestrian killed in fatal M1 South crash near Marlboro Drive
A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on the M1 Southbound near the Marlboro Drive exit in Marlboro, with traffic disruptions expected as emergency services remain on scene.
The M1 South bound near the Marlboro Drive exit in Marlboro is experiencing traffic disruptions following a fatal collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officers, emergency medical personnel and other law enforcement officials are attending to the scene.
According JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle sustained injuries as a direct result of the impact, and they were taken to hospital for urgent medical attention,” he said.

“Delays are expected as emergency operations continue. Motorists already in the queue are urged to reduce speed, stay alert, and follow instructions from traffic officers directing flow near the scene.”
