Letter on the window washer debacle

SANDTON – A Strathhaven resident engages with his community to obtain opinions on window washers.

After reading the Sandton Chronicle article, Window washers anger resident, residents of Sandton and Strathhaven feel that Metro police fail the very people who pay their tax to support the policing of their city.

According to a resident who wished to remain anonymous, the majority of residents feel that Metro police have no real intent on resolving and removing aggressive window washers.

The resident continued, “Just today, on 10 June, there is a window washer standing outside the Morningside Hospital who was banging on the windows with the back of his hand washer. He’s well known in the area.

“If Metro police knew the bylaws, they would know that these people washing windows or begging are littering and can be arrested. As much as one feels the agony of the beggars, one has to note that some are, in fact, nothing more than stakeouts for drug sellers, just like the ones on the corner of Gayston and Daisy roads.

“We also urge all drivers to rather give to proper charities than actually craft a problem that we have to become part of.”
