Accept the new normal – Amos Maungwa

"We need to be positive and we can only do that if we accept this situation as our new normal."

The Coronavirus and resultant lockdown have slowed life down for many, but the economy is improving and so too must our attitude.

So said South Africa Cricket Academy head coach Amos Maungwa who has also encouraged people to go outdoors and take part in activities if they remain safe.

“We need to be positive and we can only do that if we accept this situation as our new normal,” he said.

“We need to follow procedures and regulations in place as if they are to stay. If we get scared and stay at home then we will never have confidence. We need to go out and have faith in the safety systems that are in place.”

This is not easy for everyone, especially for those with underlying health issues or those who have experienced loss due to the virus.

But Maungwa said a change of mindset is the only way our society can get on with life.
