Chris Brown pleases this time around

JOBURG - Singer and songwriter Chris Brown made his much-anticipated appearance in South Africa with his recent concert held at the Coca-Cola Dome.

There was much speculation about how Chris Brown’s performance would fare this time around, based on his dismal half-hour ‘smoked-up’ stint from the last time he did a concert in the country.

There was also a fair amount of controversy regarding the high ticket prices for this two-act two-stop tour to Durban and Joburg.

Newcomer and opening act for Brown’s concert, also the other half of the reason for the high ticket prices, August Alsina, delivered the audience with a performance to remember – giving his all, and then some.

The crowd was visibly excited by the performances of Alsina’s back-up dancers, who left little to the imagination and served up a steamy and provocative set that left the crowd wanting more.

After a frenzied ten-minute countdown, during which a number of overzealous fans were hauled out of the crowd due to hyperventilation, Brown emerged from beneath the stage to deliver the audience with his famous high-energy dance numbers.

The one thing that Brown never let’s his fans down on is his stage dance performances, partnered with various colourful backdrops to accompany each song. He performed hits from a number of his albums and even did an outfit change between sets.

Fans were no doubt pleased by the performance that lasted much longer than his previous concert.

To the disappointment of his female fans, he did not lose any of his clothing during the performances, but the selection of songs that he performed was pleasing.
