Children learn life lessons with Maya the Bee
MONTECASINO - Selected children were special guests to an exclusive screening of the movie Maya the Bee at Montecasino.
Before the screening, the children were given an opportunity to win a Maya the Bee hamper by checking underneath their popcorn boxes for a white sticker. The winners were Alexander Nel and Keisha Rai.
The animated movie is about a little bee called Maya who has a big heart and goes on an epic adventure. Maya dreams of an exciting life of freedom, fun and following one’s heart.
The movie depicts Maya going through a whirlwind of trouble with no desire to follow the rules of the hive. One of the rules the bees have to follow is not to trust the hornets that live beyond the meadow.
When the bees’ royal jelly is stolen, the hornets are suspected and Maya is thought to have been their accomplice. No one believes she was an innocent victim and no one will stand by Maya except for her good-natured and best friend Willy.
After a long and eventful journey to the hornets’ hive, Maya and Willy soon discover the true culprit, and the two friends finally bond with the other residents of the meadow.
The movie teaches children to follow their hearts, to be unique and to treat others with equal respect, even though they look different.
