Lockdown catch up with your fave Fehmz from Kelvin

Mocktail queen, Fehmida Jordaan aka Fehmz, has been doing it all this lockdown.

Cooking, baking, exercising and staying on trend is her way of coping through the pandemic. Switching things up Fehmz, a Kelvin resident and local celeb in the community, said she kept up the element of socialising via social media.

“Even though we haven’t been able to go out and meet people, I think the biggest thing for me to continue to have a social element was doing videos on Instagram, talking to the audience and just seeing how things go. Doing that actually helped my own mental state and it has been fun you know,” she said.

A popular segment on her feed has been Dress the Curve. “Every single day, I make sure I dress up and dress nicely. I wanted to show my followers that it is okay to be in lockdown. When you feel down, pick yourself up and dress up. I want to lead by example, it’s been exciting.” She added that dressing up had also renewed her love for fashion and dressing. Calling her style ‘comfy chic’, Fehmz said her lockdown staple was tights.

“Tights are my go-to but make it fashion, making it comfy chic. Embellish the outfit, throw on my turban, mask and of course the lipstick.”

She said she had fallen in love with her kitchen again through experimenting with her mocktails, new recipes, and of course all the goodies from the Halaal Goods Market (HGM) box. “We didn’t want our small businesses that benefit from those types of things, like the market, to lose out. Nothing is the same as the real thing but turning HGM into a box gave us the opportunity to reach more people, bringing the HGM right to your doorstep.”

Using her platform, Fehmz intends to inspire fans and the community through her positive spirit. “The community has been good and keeps the spirits up and that is important.”
