‘It’s about time’ says entertainer Captain Zee

A creative soul, Zokwana's company, Zee Big Days entertainment is well on its way to being a full-on content creation hub.

There is no time like the present, according to Sandton resident and entertainer Simo Zokwana.

Better known as Captain Zee, his entertainment hub Zee Big Days released their latest project, Bout Time, in June this year. “I have been through a lot of ups and downs in my career. I move around a lot so when I hit up Towdee Mac while I was down in Cape Town he was keen to produce the song with me. I was happy because he is a very respected music producer,” he said.

The song features musical duo B3nchMarQ and new artist 3two1 and depicts Zokawana’s journey in the industry.

“It speaks about what I was going through which was a coincidence because it was the right place and right time and that’s the inspiration behind the song. It a took while for me to drop it because I was waiting for the right time and the right time is now,” he said.

A creative soul, Zokwana’s company, Zee Big Days entertainment is well on its way to being a full-on content creation hub. Releasing their first music video the week before, Zokwana said that he wanted to give others the chance to shine through his space.

“I give the artist leeway, I give a skeleton of how I would like the song to go and the delivery. On this project, everything just gelled together and put out the message I wanted to get out there.”It’s about time and it’s always been my time. You know people must watch out for me. It’s my time now,” Zokwana said excitedly.

With a few projects in the pipeline, Zee Big Days’ focus will be on shooting more content, telling different stories and building careers.

He will also be launching a video and podcast on-demand platform later this year. “I am a content kind of guy, I want to get back to my passion for radio and shift my focus to content creation. We are firstly an entertainment hub and the VOD is a priority. There will be a variety of content from listening sessions to short stories and everything in between,” he said.
