Tshepo to perform at the Back to the City festival

“I want my music to speak for itself or else it would be unfair to tell people how they should remember me, I might as well become a hypnotist or a psychic”

VAAL TRIANGLE. – Tshepo ‘Abstract’ Mathibela (19) from Lakeside is said to wow the Back to the City Hip Hop festival Stages on April 27 in Johannesburg Newtown. Mthibela’s passion for rapping started during English poetry classes at Pine-dine Primary school in Vanderbjil Park.

He defines himself as a unique, firebrand MC with a touch of a turn up rapper who was inspired by music of the late by 2 Pac- California Love and the sounds of an underground group Onyx- Last days and Tumi from the Volume, Proverb, ‘Sqwatta Kamp’ and Mr Selwyn of the Township Frequency Crew.

“I want my music to speak for itself or else it would be unfair to tell people how they should remember me, I might as well become a hypnotist or a psychic”

Abstract’s dream is by far incomplete as he sees himself growing a music empire which will give opportunity to upcoming artists. In the next ten years he sees himself owning independent Production and distribution Company.

“I’m a self-proclaimed tight rapper who is about to blow up, you better ask somebody,” exclaimed Abstract.

He is currently among top 20 MC’s who are campaigning for votes for the biggest performing platform in hip hop at the Annual Back To The City Festival in Newtown Johannesburg. A competition powered by Energy drink called Power Play which will give the winning MC and Producer Ten Thousand Rand. This competition is called the 10K Challenge.

To vote SMS Play10K-TRILL OG to 32541. Online vote: www.backtothecityfestival.com (Vote for 2.Trill OG – Abstract). Go to www.soundcloud.com/abstractmusic016 to download ABSTRACT-Trill OG.
