ATM bombed in General Hertzog

VEREENIGING. - Two suspects managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash last night after bombing an ATM at the Excel Garage in General Hertzog. This is according to Vereeniging Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda.

VEREENIGING. –  Two suspects managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash last night after bombing an ATM at the Excel Garage in General Hertzog. This is according to Vereeniging Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda.

 

“The suspects arrived yesterday driving an Audi and a BMW, they then instructed one of the Petrol attendants to fill the Audi with petrol, after which they refused to pay and pointed the attendant with a gun and instructed him to show them where all his other colleagues were. The employees were then taken to a small room and tied.”

 

Funda adds that the suspects then forced open the door to the shop, put explosives on the drop safe and took an undisclosed amount of cash. “They subsequently went outside and bombed the ATM, took all the money and drove off.”

 

Funda urges any member of the community with information regarding this matter to come forward. “No arrests have been made. Police are investigating  a case of ATM bombing and Business robbery. Further investigations will determine whether additional charges will be added. People with information can call :016 450 2262” Funda concludes.
