Pregnant woman critically injured in collision – Fochville

A woman believed to be seven months pregnant was critically injured in a collision between two vehicles on the N12, in Fochville, last night.

ER24 paramedics as well as other services attended to the incident. Upon arrival paramedics found the woman, who was ejected, lying several metres away from the vehicle she was travelling in.

Upon assessment it was found that she sustained multiple injuries and was in a critical condition. Upon further assessment it was found that her baby appeared to be fine at the time. She was treated and airlifted to hospital for further medical care.

Two other women from the same vehicle were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. They were transported to hospital by ambulance. The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured. The exact cause of the incident is unknown.

Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
