Police search for man in the Vaal River
SEDIBENG.- A search for a man started on Sunday after male clothing items were found next to the Vaal River.

The police received a call from someone who went fishing and came across the clothes. “He alerted the police because he was afraid the man might have gotten into the river,” Vereeniging SAPS spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda said.
Funda says, “On arrival, police found the clothes right next to the river. They then called the SAPS Water Wing and K9 dog unit and begun a search for the man. They searched for approximately one hour after which they stopped as they did not find anything. ”
Funda subsequently urged anyone who has a family member who might have disappeared wearing the same clothing items to come forward as they can help the police with their investigation.
“The family can give us a lead to finding out what really happened. At this moment a case has not been opened as we do not know what might have happened. Investigations are still ongoing and they will search further until something comes up.”
Anyone with information can go to the Vereeniging Police Station.
