Fake police officers hijacking people on R59/Boy Louw

SEDIBENG. -  Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda urges members of the community using the  R59 Boy Louw and Vanderbijlpark off ramp to be on the lookout for a  blue Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus and Marathon bus, both with blue lights.

Funda says the two vehicles carrying rifles and pistols, belong to a group  pretending to be police officers conducting a “road block” which is unlawful.

“These people are hijackers and not  police officers. People must be careful because the area is a known hotspot for hijacking.”

Funda further urges community members hiring help to require personal documents as the help is commonly involved in house robberies and house break-ins.

“When you hire a person as a gardener, make sure that you have his or her personal particulars. There are cases of  house break-ins  and theft where gardeners have been implicated.
