On behalf of the Democratic Alliance (DA), I would like to wish all South Africans a happy and joyous Festive Season, as we bid farewell to 2016 with our families and loved ones.
I would also like to wish all Christian South Africans a Merry Christmas, and all Jewish South Africans a blessed Hanukkah.
This time of year is a time for joy, love and laughter. As we celebrate with family and loved ones, let us not forget the millions of our fellow citizens who are less fortunate than ourselves, and commit to turning our faith into practice in our daily lives, particularly through compassion and generosity towards those in need.
I urge all those who will be traveling during this time to travel safely, remain cautious and vigilant, and be mindful of all other road users.
