One person has died and three others sustained serious injuries after two vehicles collided head-on.

According to Netcare 911, the incident occurred in the  early hours of Thursday morning.

“Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision at the intersection of Nelson Mandela and Du Plessis Roads in Bloemfontein. Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles collided head-on. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles consistent with that of a high impact collision spread over a large area. On investigation they found that the occupants were still trapped in the twisted frames of their vehicles. ”

After the injured were extricated and stabilised, medics transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
