Sharpeville Police were deployed to the scene after they were alerted by community members. The two community members were apparently looking for fishing spots around the Dlomo Dam when they saw the floating corpse.

They immediately rushed to Sharpeville Police Station to alert the police.

Upon the polices’ arrival they found that the deceased was badly assaulted and hacked to death and that his legs were tied up. Captain Attie Loate, police spokesperson confirms that a case of murder has been opened.
