Dancers to represent SA if enough funds are found

These students were selected to represent South Africa internationally, but they urgently need financial support

 

Dancers from the dance studio E-PAC in the Vaal Triangle, seen here with their teacher Elmarie van Wyk, participated in the regional competition of a huge dance competition and excelled in different styles: Sinethemba Mpinga was rewarded 80% in the hip hop solo, Mandisa Mzotho, 79% in the musical theater solo, Okeletsi Nyathi, 85% in the jazz solo, Mathapelo Mothapo was rewarded 90% in the musical theater solo, and Mathapelo and Okeletsi were rewarded 98% in the jazz duet and they were also awarded for Best Performance in the region. They also took part in the national competition, where the dance studio’s gum boots group and hip hop group both received gold medals. Other achievements include: hip hop solo – Sinethemba Mpinga (bronze), musical theater solo – Mandisa Mzotho (bronze), jazz solo – Okeletsi Nyathi (bronze), musical theater solo – Mathapelo Mothapo (bronze) and jazz duet – Mathapelo and Okeletsi (silver). The students were selected to represent South Africa internationally, but they urgently need financial support to enable them to participate in such follow-up competitions.
