Police warn of hijackings on the R59 and R550 Nigel Road

Warrant Officer Happy Nape from the Kliprivier SAPS reports that there is a high rate of car and truck hijackings happening on the R59 freeway and R550, Nigel Road.

VEREENIGING. -Warrant Officer Happy Nape from the Kliprivier SAPS reports that there is a high rate of car and truck hijackings happening on the R59 freeway and R550, Nigel Road.

“We urge members of the community to be vigilant when driving and to avoid stopping unnecessarily, especially when being stopped by suspicious people. Motorists should also avoid giving unknown people lifts and stopping when being flicked at by other motorists.”

Nape further warns the community to drive with their cars locked to avoid such incidents. “If possible, motorists must drive to the nearest safest place.”

Nape stated that to address the issue,there will be an indaba meeting that will be held at Meyerton City Hall on September 07 at 17:00 and communities of Meyerton, Kliprivier, Vaal Marina and De Deur are invited to attend the meeting.
