Power stays on (for now) thanks to agreement

Gauteng Province's Corporate Affairs confirms that a previous notice to disconnect bulk electricity supply to the Emfuleni Local Municipality on October 3, has been suspended.

Gauteng Province’s Corporate Affairs confirmed to MooiVaal Media yesterday that a previous notice that bulk electricity supply to the Emfuleni Local Municipality would be disconnected on October 3 due to bad debt, was suspended after an agreement had been reached between Emfuleni, Eskom and Gauteng Treasury.
According to Gauteng’s Corporate Affairs, a payment arrangement was entered into. Eskom will closely monitor the situation and will provide an update, should circumstances change.
For any electricity-related enquiries, customers are requested to call the Eskom Contact Centre on 08600 37566 (24hrs) or text (SMS) your query and account number / meter number to
35328. Illegal connections may be reported on the same number.
