Man shot dead in Sebokeng hijacking

All the suspects are still at large and the red VW Golf 5 has not yet been recovered.

SEBOKENG. – Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile funda reports that police are investigating after  a 49-year-old man was shot and killed in a hijacking that happened next to the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in zone 14. The incident happened on Friday.

“All the suspects are still at large and the red VW Golf 5 has not yet been recovered.” Funda adds that Sedibeng cluster, which includes Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark, Oranje farms, Vereeniging and DE-deur police stations  carried out operations and visibility campaigns over the festive season..

“As a result, over 200 people were arrested for housebreaking, robbery and common robbery, common assault and assault with  grievous bodily harm(gbh), possession of drugs, business robberies, hijackings, murders, Attempted murders and  ATM bombings. ”

Investigations are ongoing in the various cases.
