Pedestrian killed in Vanderbijlpark

Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was killed on Friday when she was hit by a light motor vehicle on the R57 in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at to find the body of a woman lying in the middle of the road. Two light motor vehicles had come to a stop on the side of the road a great distance away.

Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.

The drivers of the two other vehicles were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. Both were treated and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

It is understood that one of the vehicles had collided with the woman, then colliding with a second vehicle.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
