SEDIBENG. – The number of Vaal soccer players who play in the Multi-choice Diski Challenge is increasing every weekend.
Teboho “Mabitso” Moloi from Sebokeng, Zone 10 is the latest youngsters from this region to make his debut in this PSL reserve league.
His parents, friends and former teamates were excited to see him on television when he came in as a sub for Free State Stars against Kaizer Chiefs in the MDC match played in Durban over the weekend.
Moloi made his MDC debut for Free State against Polokwane City last weekend. This 18-year-old midfielder-cum-striker played for a local academy – the Nale Football Academy – before he joined Free State Stars. Some of the Sedibeng youngsters who are making names for themselves in the MDC league are Sabelo “Bibo” Radebe, Samuel Nkomo, Lerotoli Morabe, Lebohang “Musona” Lesako and Augustine Mahlonoko, to mention but a few.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after his MDC debut against Polokwane City, Moloi said it was a great feeling to make his debut in the MDC and be in the winning team.To date, Moloi is one of the youngsters whose potential showed up when Nale Football Academy dominated the MCS Sedibeng Cup for the past few years, beating teams with higher scores.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Free State Stars for the opportunity because I have been working hard at training.
“This is like a dream come true for me – to play in the MDC – and I’m looking forward to playing against my former teammates from the Vaal, especially when I play against Kaizer Chiefs and other teams in Gauteng, my home province,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
Many are of the opinion that the Vaal must have a representative in the PSL taking into consideration the number of players it is producing recently.
