VANDERBIJLPARK. – Russel Meiring from the ER24 Communications Office reported that a man, believed to be in his 50s, was left seriously injured yesterday morning ,23 January, when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the Louis Trichardt and Beefwood Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 10:44 to find the light motor vehicle in the right-hand lane while the cyclist was found on the side of the road.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a serious condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
