Taxi rollover leaves eighteen injured

MEYERTON. – Russel Meiring from the ER24 Communication office reported that eighteen people were left injured yesterday, 8 February following a taxi rollover on the R59 in Meyerton.

ER24 paramedics, among other services, arrived on the scene at 12:15 to find a taxi and trailer lying on their side. Several passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found seated on the roadside.

Paramedics assessed the 21 people from the taxi and found that 18 had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
