Middle-aged woman dies in motorbike collission in Midvaal

Paramedics did everything possible to revive her but sadly she succumbed to her injuries on scene

A woman, believed to be in her fifties, sadly succumbed to her injuries in a motorbike collision in Bolton Wold, Meyerton this afternoon.

Werner Vermaak of ER24’s Communications Office reports that the accident happened shortly after 1pm today. Paramedics from ER24, Midvaal Fire and Rescue as well as Midvaal Traffic and Police attended the scene. Upon assessment, they found the woman with critical head injuries and possible internal injuries. While paramedics were stabilising her, her vital signs rapidly deteriorated. “Paramedics did everything possible to revive her but sadly she succumbed to her injuries on scene. A man, also believed to have been on the motorbike, sustained moderate injuries. He was treated and transported by Provincial EMS to Sebokeng Hospital for further care,” says Vermaak.

He says it appears that the motorbike crashed into the back of a bakkie on Party Road in Bolton Wold, Meyerton. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the collision will be investigated by the local authorities.
