SASOLBURG. – Multitudes of people gathered at the City of Love & Restoration – the Full Gospel Church in Zamdela – on Sunday. According to a member of the Church, Ketso “Toto” Makume, the purpose of the event was to promote education, to motivate, encourage and inspire young people in particular Grade 12 learners to further their studies for the betterment of their lives.
Makume, who has just obtained his Bachelor of Administration Honours Degree thanked the Presiding Pastor of the Church, Reverend Thabiso Mashiloane and his wife for organising such an event.
Reverend Mashiloane’s sermon for the day was on education. EFF’s Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who was the guest speaker, encouraged learners to be educated otherwise they will be led by uneducated people.
The Speaker of the Metsimaholo Local Municipality who also recently graduated, Thabo Mabaso, spoke on behalf of Ward II and the Municipality. He emphasised the importance of education. Most Grade 12 learners who were in attendance were from Nkgopoleng High School which has been taking first position in Grade 12 in Sasolburg over the years. Rev Mashiloane thanked the principal of the school Mr Rakgatla for the good work he is doing.
Nzala Mokoena, Alfred Tlokolo and the Rainbow Tenors blessed the packed church with beautiful music and kept the congregation on its feet.
