Warrant Officer Martin Seaman – Communication Officer – Sedibeng Flying Squad
On Friday 14 June 2019 at about 01:25 Warrant officer Paul Majoro, Sergeant Zacharia Phali and Constable Roelf Prinsloo were doing crime prevention duties in Vanderbijlpark area and arrested one (01) suspect for cable theft.
Members were patrolling down Faraday Boulevard when they saw a suspicious looking person. The suspect was stopped after they have realised that he was busy digging up an electrical cable which he managed to cut it off. The suspect was arrested immediately on the scene and later discovered that the cable belonged to Emfuleni Municipality. A 60MM diameter cable was dug up and cut. The estimated value of the cable amounts to R500 000. The suspect aged 28 was arrested and detained at Vanderbijlpark SAPS for Malicious damage to property and theft.
