Vereeniging police hunt for hijackers
"The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of property. A hijacking case is being investigated."
VEREENIGING. – The police in Vereeniging are lookin for six suspects after a delivery vehicle was hijacked on Hout Kop Road.
According to the police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda, the six men who were driving in two different vehicles were armed.
“The suspects managed to stop a delivery vehicle with three occupants inside. The three occupants were told to get into the suspects’ vehicle and one of the suspects drove the delivery vehicle.
Funda stated the men also assaulted the security guard who was driving the escort vehicle.
“The security guard was assaulted but he managed to get away.”
The delivery vehicle was later found in Meyerton. “The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of property. A hijacking case is being investigated.” Funda concludes.
