ELM attends to sewer leakages in Three Rivers

VEREENIGING. – Following sewer leakages in the Three Rivers area, Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) had to deploy employees from their water department, Metsi-a-Lekoa to come and resolve the problems.

The team had to unclog a blocked manhole that flooded the road with sewer water on Klipriver Drive next to the Dick Fourie Stadium.

ELM Media Liaison, Officer Chuchi Radebe, said that the team had been deployed to fix all the problem areas in the vicinity.

“The flowing of sewerage from the manhole was a result of the blockage. The problem has since been resolved and cleaned up. The team is now investigating what the cause of the blockage might have been.”

Radebe was conducting site visits at various problem areas in Three Rivers. He further reported that both the team from Metsi-a-Lekoa and members from the ELM roads department were busy fixing the road next to the Riviera Hotel, which had been flooded with sewerage and also filled with potholes.
