The residents of Ext 17 en 18 commonly known as Muvhango in Bophelong, ran amok after they were without electricity for two consecutive days. This comes after a big bang sound of a  Transformer was heard on Sunday afternoon near Roman Catholic church. Frustration and anger pushed them to march to the Golden Highway and Milton street robots to barricades the road with burning tyres and rocks. Police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the crowd. Vanderbijlpark Crime Prevention Commander, Lt  Colonel Mongezi Gulashe tried to engage the community leaders to drive to Emfuleni municipal to get full information. At the time of printing, the Ward Councillor Thembile Ncube was not available for comment. Later the crowd went back to their areas with the promise that, should the municipal fail to connect back electric, they are returning back to the street.
