Donate a Santa Shoe Box

SEDIBENG.- The Santa Shoe Box Project Vaal is urging the members of the community to come on board and put a smile on children’s faces this coming festive season.
The idea behind the Santa Shoe Box Project is to ensure that children gets some basic necessary items as well as a few treats, and the Vaal is currently on 489 donations with 800 needed.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Santa Shoe Box Vaal Project Co-ordinator, Nastassja Hattingh said that the boxes are donated to children throughout the Vaal to make the festive season a joyous one. The minimum eight required items in the box are, a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a wash cloth, sweets, a toy, school supplies and an outfit of clothing — all new, unused and age-appropriate.
“The Vaal Triangle is currently on 489 pledges and we need about 800. Please help wherever you can, help us reach 800 by just posting something about the project on your Facebook page.”
Hattingh said that the success of the project can largely be attributed to its personal nature as donors give gifts of the essential items and treats to children.
“We depend heavily on the public for these boxes and so would appreciate any help from the public. Let’s make MAGIC! Donate a Santa Shoe box and bring magic to underprivileged children in your community.”
