Police Spokesperson, Captain Thembeka Koago said that during the last couple of months the country has observed escalating violent acts committed by men against women and children.
“Many South African have for many years called upon different stakeholders to find ways of stopping this aggression against women children. Many organisation have called upon men to desist from committing these cruel acts of assault against women and children.
“The situation is hardly changing.”
Koago said that women and children‘s cries for help are becoming louder and louder by the day and that they need to be heared.
“What does God who created all of us in his own image and likeness think of what our society has become. “Jesus came down to live among us in the form of a human being, so that all may be saved and have life abundantly, not just certain section of the population.
“Why does it have to go to the extreme that our children have to march, walk, demonstrate, exhibit in order to show us that they are tired of our behaviour?”
During the walk, the station management welcomed the children with warm hands and they were taught about the children’s rights, types of crimesand where to report child abuse. Police urge anyone with information about abuse to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police stations.
