SEDIBENG.- The South African Football Association (SAFA) and coach Pitso Mosimane have finally reached an agreement after lengthy talks over salary and branding rights, meaning it is now time for both parties to walk the talk!

Zakes’ Sports Corner noted with concern that this new partnership started on the wrong foot, to say the least.

Though questions remain over whether SAFA fully agreed to all of the coach’s commercial demands.

There were wage demands and commercial rights causing significant delays and stopping Mosimane from immediately replacing Hugo Broos as Bafana Bafana manager.

SAFA President Danny Jordaan and Mosimane appeared side by side at a heavily anticipated press conference to show a united front, though questions remain over whether SAFA fully agreed to all of the coach’s commercial demands.

With all the dramatic contract talk finally behind them, attention must now shift directly to the football pitch as Mosimane prepares for his first major assignment in two weeks: an African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea.

Helman Mkhalele is out of the picture.

Zakes’ Sports Corner notes that Mosimane has big shoes to fill, especially with the appointment process proving far more public and controversial than the quiet arrival of his predecessor, Broos.

Furthermore, a small outstanding issue remains regarding the assistant coach, as Helman Mkhalele is out of the picture and Mosimane has yet to officially name his deputy after introducing two other members of his technical staff.

Now that Mosimane has secured his demands and stepped into the role, immense pressure rests on his shoulders to deliver immediate results on the pitch
