SEBOKENG. – The police have launched an inquest into the death of an elderly man aged between  65-71 after he was knocked down by a train in Sebokeng Zone 6 extension 5, near Ironside.

According to police spokesperson constable Busisiwe Sango, the body of the deceased was found on railway lines by Vusaisizwe Security officials who were patrolling along the railway lines.

Sango says, “On his arrival at Parkstation, a train driver reported that he had knocked down a person along the railway lines at about 22:55 on Wednesday.”

“The body was cut into two pieces from the lower body and had severe injuries on the right hand side.

The deceased was wearing a black top, Grey shirt with horizontal stripes, Brown belt, Navy blue trouser and Black boots.”

All the various role players attended the scene including Vusaisizwe Security officials and Prasa officials.

“Anyone who might have a missing family member with clothes fitting the description of those of the deceased can contact the nearest police station.” Sango concludes.
