DA saddened by death of a community member

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Vaal is deeply saddened by the death of a community member during a violent ANC meeting.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Vaal is deeply saddened by the death of a community member at the Rust-ter-Vaal Community Hall on Wednesday night. She died during a violent ANC meeting.
According to Dennis Ryder MP – DA Constituency Head, Emfuleni South, the ANC had a branch meeting and were in the process of selecting a candidate for an up-coming by-election when the meeting turned violent and shots were allegedly fired.
“It is unclear what the exact cause of death was, but the commotion clearly played a role. The DA is of the view that politics, and especially internal politics, should be an exchange of ideas and not an exchange of hostilities. Whatever the cause of death, her passing casts a shadow over the by-election and our fallen resident will be remembered. May her soul rest in peace,” said Ryder.
