Bishop Malindi gives food to the people

“There is no way that I will preach or send some messages of hope and faith to the people on lockdown while they are living on an empty stomach.”

BOPHELONG.- Bishop NJ Malindi from the Fire in Control Ministries in Bophelong uttered these words as he gave hope and donated food parcels to 25 unemployed members from his church in Bophelong today (Wednesday). Malindi said that since the lockdown some members of his church could simply not access food.

“Not everyone can survive the lockdown as we are all waiting with hope that soon the President will uplift the lockdown. As a church we felt that it’s about time that we made sure that the congregation is fed. We could not invite everyone, we need to fill up the belly of our neighbours so that at the end, God can perform His miracles. As a church leader, I have adopted a principle that we need to rally together to support the needy. I knew most of their plight even before Covid-19 pandemic. ,” said Malindi.

On behalf of the recipients, one of them said from the bottom of their hearts, they appreciate the parcels.

“We have been given hope for another long period. We had been stuck, not knowing where to run for help,” said a congregant. Her sentiments were echoed by other members of the congregation who received the donations while keeping to social distance in a queue.
