Local teams must wait: ELFA

ELFA said clubs under its structures should await official communication from them and the South African Football Association (SAFA).

SEDIBENG. – The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) has issued an official statement about the resumption of football activities to local teams.

The teams have been told to wait a bit longer.

ELFA said clubs under its structures should await official communication from South African Football Association (SAFA) and ELFA for before they start with their programs.

“After the briefing by the Minister of Sports, Nathi Mthethwa on May 30, it was clear that during the lockdown Level 3, all contact sports games will remain prohibited. However, SAFA must submit their proposed plan to the Coronavirus Command Council within 14 days on how they will resume their training programme and matches,” reads the statement.

There was confusion when some Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs announced on their websites that they will resume with their training programs when the country moved from Level 4 to Level 3.
