SEDIBENG.- This year South Africa marks 10 years after hosting the successful FIFA 2010 World Cup, and Sedibeng (Vaal) cannot be left out. Four of our own, Former SAFA President Dr. Molefi Oliphant, Potso Mohami from Bophelong (administrator), former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron “Mbazo” Mokoena and Levy Ramajoe from Boipatong, who was recently appointed as the Bafana Bafana Team Manager were part of a squad that experienced this historical moment.
Sedibeng has all the reason to be happy and be mentioned amongst the regions that were part of this milestone as we hosted one of the African powerhouses, the Ivory Coast national soccer team. The Ivorians used the George Thabe Stadium in Sharpeville for training purposes.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Bafana Bafana Team Manager, Levy Ramajoe said that it was a remarkable journey. He recalled how the country was united, black and white, young and old, in rallying behind Bafana Bafana.
“I’m grateful to be part of the Bafana Bafana team that experienced this unforgettable story. This is one moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” said Ramajoe.
