The Sedibeng district (old Vaal Triangle) has recorded its second COVID-19 death. This is according to a statement issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government on Tuesday, 16 June.

339 positive cases with 49 new cases of the coronavirus had been reported in the Sedibeng District.

The total number of recoveries in Sedibeng are 65.

The department gave the following breakdown of cases in Sedibeng:

Lesedi: 52 positive cases – 6 recoveries,

Emfuleni: 241 positive – 48 recoveries,

Midvaal: 30 positive – 11 recoveries,

Unallocated: 18.
