Woman kicked out of stand

The new land claimants apparently want R 40 000 each for the pieces of land.

SEBOKENG.- A 65-year-old woman, Vangi Dlamini, finds herself literally out in the cold after a self-proclaimed owner of the land on which she lives kicked her out recently.
The land in dispute is just across the road near Boiketlong and Zone 10 in Sebokeng.
Dlamini said that she was ‘given’ the piece of land some two years back by community leaders in the area but was recently approached by a woman who claims to be the owner of the land, and wanted her out.
Dlamini said that she is threatened with being removed forcefully by the alleged owner. It has since emerged that the community leaders that ‘gave’ Dlamini the land cannot be traced. The land issue takes a turn for the worst as it is said that the children of the former owners of the land, who have since died, are coming forward to claim it, and the current occupants have nowhere to go. The new land claimants apparently want R 40 000 each for the pieces of land, but Dlamini and the others do not have the money.
Sedibeng Ster has seen a message in which the new claimant said that Dlamini must be out by the end of the month.
“I hope we understand each other. I don’t want your money anymore, but my yard. Phuma ntombazane eplotini li ka Nkabinde, I don’t want to hurt you or your family. Believe you me, I can do worse than what you expect(ed),” read the message.
At the time of going to print, Dlamini had nowhere to go except that she would have to rent elsewhere.
The alleged landowner could not be traced for comment.
