Eskom announced that it will be implementing load reduction from 17:00 – 22:00 to avoid network overloading. Affected areas in die Vaal include: Boipatong, Powerville, Sharpeville, Tshepiso, Vanderbijlpark N.E.3, Vereeniging, Althea AH, Ennerdale South, Geluksdal AH, Kanana Park and Orange Farm.

“During the load reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid power surges when power returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damages to household appliances when supply is restored.
Please do not log a fault during this period” the power utility said in a statement.
