School boy (19) arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm

He finally took the firearm out and confirmed that the firearm belongs to his father.

EVATON.- A 19-year-old Khutlo Tharo Secondary School pupil, from Tshepong Phase 2, in Sebokeng, was arrested and charged with being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition recently.
Police Spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi said that the Evaton Police members received a call from Khutlo Tharo Secondary School about a learner who had a firearm in his possession.
“Upon their arrival, the Sedibeng TRT, together with Evaton social crime prevention members, interviewed the learner. He finally took the firearm out and confirmed that the firearm belongs to his father. The reason he took it from his father’s safe was because there were some guys that were bullying him after school, and he wanted to scare them. The suspect was detained at the Evaton Police Station for further investigation.”
Police plead with community members to keep their firearm’s safe keys in a place where it’s not reachable for children and make sure that their safe is built in and numbers or the key’s whereabouts are unknown to their children.
