Sharpeville Veterans Social Club celebrates 5 years

The gathering was to reflect back and look to the future.

SHARPEVILLE.-The Sharpeville Veterans Social Club celebrated their five year anniversary in style over the weekend.
This five year celebration of existence took place at Vilakazi Street in Sharpeville, where the members gathered.
The gathering was to reflect back and look to the future as far as football in the township is concerned.
Topping the agenda was the revival of the once powerful Sharpeville Football Association.

The Sharpeville Veterans Social Club said there is an urgent need to bring back the good old days when football was played throughout the weekends at all Sharpeville grounds.
Sharpeville Veterans Social Club Spokesperson, Ishmael Mabe said that the gathering was not only about the five years celebrations but the revival of the junior football association in the area.
“We invited Sharpeville clubs to attend the celebration and to share our vision with them on how can we help to restore football in this area. We are aware that there is no junior soccer league in the area. We want to bring this culture back where junior soccer teams used to play on Saturday with senior teams playing of Sundays. We intend to engage with all stakeholders to make this a great success,” said Mabe.
