VEREENIGING. – A three-vehicle collision left one man dead and five others injured. The incident happened last night on the R28 between Westonaria and Vereeniging.

“ER24 and other services arrived on the scene to find one vehicle in the road while two others were on the side of the road.

“On closer inspection, paramedics found a man lying inside the one vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead. Five others were assessed and found to have sustained serious to moderate injuries.

“Patients were treated and provided with pain relief before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
