MEYERTON. – Muslims around the world recently celebrated Eid Mubarak.

Eid is a festival of selfless, introspection – a celebration to mark the end of Ramadan, a holy month in which Muslims observed fast during the day and do charity which is also called Zakat.

On this auspicious day, Muslims perform prayers to seek blessing. Muslim wear new clothes, greet friends, family and celebrated by having a feast. The primary focus of the feast is a sweet dish called Sawaiyan (vermicelli pudding). Every adult of the family also gives gifts and donates some amount of money to the poor or needy on this day.
