Human ashes found abandoned on train

Vereeniging police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “ The family of the deceased or anyone who might know the deceased is asked to contact the Vereeniging SAPS on 016 450 2004 and ask to speak to Warrant Officer Deon Pringle."

VEREENIGING. – The police are looking for the family of Lilian Hilda Freda Atkinson (80) who died in 1983 September 5th.

This is after ashes belonging to the deceased were brought to Vereeniging SAPS after they were found by PRASA security in a mainline train travelling from Johannesburg to East London.

Vereeniging police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “ The family of the deceased or anyone who might know the deceased is asked to contact the Vereeniging SAPS on 016 450 2004 and ask to speak to Warrant Officer Deon Pringle.

“Alternatively, they can call Crime Stop on 0800 10111 or use the MYSAPS App on their smartphones.”
