Sebokeng SAPS’ operation ‘O kae molao’ yields results
Police also seized fridges that were used to store liquor in illegal shebeens.

SEBOKENG.- The Sedibeng District Law-Enforcement Agencies were all out colouring streets of Sebokeng policing area with various types of uniforms during a weekly Operation On Kae Molao on Thursday morning. They managed to arrest 74 suspects for various cases. Offences contravened and committed include Possession of drugs, Illegal Immigrants, selling liquor without licence, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of dagga, contravention of National Road Traffic Regulations, non-compliance with COVID-19 Regulations Level 3, interference with Police whilst executing their duties, Assault GBH and contravention of Customs and Excise Act. Police said that the operation focuses on monitoring compliance with COVID-19 Regulations Level 3 by motorists, passengers, community, shop owners, transport industry and customers, it also focus on roadblocks, checking the transportation of illegal firearms, drugs, illicit cigarettes and dangerous weapons, and Police visibility.
Whilst Law-Enforcement Agencies were conducting the operation, four hundred and thirty three (433) motor vehicles and six hundred and eighty four (684) people were searched. During the Operation O Kae Molao, several unlawful items were seized including mandrax tablets, various brands of liquor with estimated 675 535ml, dagga, various brands of illicit cigarettes, knives, school stationary of different grades, two motor vehicles were impounded Customs and Excise Officials, and gambling machine. Police also seized fridges that were used to store liquor in illegal shebeens. The arrested suspects will appear in the Sebokeng Magistrate Court soon.
